Admissions
Applying for a Reception Place
Applications for a September 2026 reception place close on 15th January 2026. These applications need to be made online via Suffolk County Council at www.suffolk.gov.uk/admissions for a school place.
If you applied online before the deadline you will receive an email with details of your school offer on 6th April 2026.
You are also welcome to ring the school or contact us via email office@hillsideprimary.co.uk to make an appointment and arrange a visit to the school.
Application form for an 'in year' admission
Suffolk County Council do not co-ordinate in-year applications. Parents who wish to make an in-year application to an academy need to apply to that school directly. If you would like to transfer your child to Hillside Primary School you will need to complete our online form which is available here.
You are also welcome to ring the school or contact us via email to make an appointment and arrange a visit to the school.
Year 6 applying for a Secondary school place
Applications for a September 2026 Year 7 Secondary school place close on 31st October 2025. The LA sends all Suffolk parents and carers a single offer of a place on 1 March 2026 and notifies schools accordingly. It will be assumed that parents and carers have accepted the school offered, unless they notify the LA in writing by 15 March 2025.

Appeals
As part of the funding agreements, The Active Learning Trust is required to comply with the School Admissions Appeals Code. In the event of your application being unsuccessful all admission appeals should be referred to the ALT Central Office, and appeal hearings will be organised where appropriate. All letters refusing admission will give details of how to appeal the decision. The appeal timetable can be downloaded from the policy section of our website.
