We serve families from Maidenhall, Stoke and the surrounding areas of south-west Ipswich, and our wonderfully diverse community is one of our greatest strengths. We celebrate individuality, embrace different backgrounds and experiences, and ensure that every child feels seen, heard and respected.

Our classrooms are places where questions are encouraged, creativity is celebrated and children are challenged to think deeply, explore new ideas and learn from their experiences. But learning at Hillside extends far beyond the classroom.

One of the things visitors often notice about Hillside is the strength of the relationships throughout our school. We take time to get to know every child and family. Whether a pupil joins us in Nursery or partway through their primary journey, we work hard to understand their strengths, interests and individual needs.

Our dedicated staff team, pastoral support systems and close partnerships with families help create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, confident and ready to learn. Our pupils know that there will always be an adult who will listen, support and encourage them when they need it most.

Through clear routines, high-quality teaching, excellent attendance and a calm, purposeful learning environment, we help children make strong progress and develop positive attitudes towards learning.

We are incredibly proud of the journey our school is on and the improvements we continue to make. Our most recent Ofsted inspection recognised many of the strengths that make Hillside special, including our inclusive culture, early years provision, behaviour, leadership and commitment to personal development.

While we are proud of what has been achieved, we remain focused on continuous improvement, ensuring that every child receives the very best education and opportunities possible.

At Hillside, we know that the best schools are built on partnership. We value the trust that families place in us and believe that education works best when schools and parents work together.
