Voluntary Work
Voluntary Work Information:
We are grateful to our team of volunteers who make a valuable contribution to the life and learning at Hillside. They help in a range of different ways, such as:
-
Listening to children read on a regular basis
-
Supporting our English as an Additional Language (EAL) team by interpreting at meetings with parents
-
Leading special assemblies
-
Sharing information about a variety of religions, lifestyles of different countries and memories of years gone by
-
Working with other committee members on the PTA
-
Being a governor
We take our safeguarding responsibilities very seriously. Therefore volunteers have to complete similar checks and training as our staff. Regular visitors have to complete a DBS check and a 'Declaration of Disqualification by Association', and we may need to ask for references. Our volunteers complete safeguarding related training alongside our staff.
If you would like to volunteer on a regular basis or would like to contribute by sharing skills or experiences, please contact the office staff. We look forward to hearing from you.
