Our Values
Our school logo is the Inukshuk.
An Inukshuk is a figure made of piled stones or boulders built to communicate with humans throughout the Arctic. The word Inukshuk comes from the word inuk meaning "a human being." Traditionally, the Inuit people of Canada and the North made these stone figures and placed them throughout the Arctic landscape acting as "helpers" to the Inuit. They are used as hunting and direction-finding aids and message centres.
We have adopted the Inukshuk as the Hillside logo as it signposts our children to a community where they feel safe, help each other and find their way through their learning journey at Hillside.
